Septic system Design

experienced & hands on
we bring our high standards, experience and integrity to every system we install

our commitment to OUR customers:

we will be with you every step of the way; beginning with the design process through to the final installation and finishing up with a walk through of your new system.

The purpose of a design is to create a blueprint for your septic system. Grayline will align you with a certified and experienced septic design consultant. The designer will complete a design based on information about your home including the number of bedrooms, square footage, the lot layout, as well as complete a soil analysis to determine the soil structure and content. We then use the design to install a system which is affordable and effective. We will give you the tools and knowledge to easily operate and maintain your system with the end goal being environmental protection.

Grayline Contracting guarantees to provide a highly competitive price against any other installation quote from a qualified septic contractor.

avoid an improperly designed
system

The number one issue that we see is a septic system that was improperly designed and/or installed too small for the conditions. The cost of the least expensive contractor generally results in a shorter life of your septic system before saturating and requiring a rebuild. If the builder or contractor's warranty period has expired then you are facing replacement costs of $15,000 – $35,000.

Soil Analysis:

In previous years soil analysis was completed through a percolation test. This process has since been determined by science to be unreliable and could not be replicated. Today the design company will excavate a test pit 8 feet deep in several areas where the septic field will be installed. A soil profile is developed and recorded. Soils samples are collected and sent to Kaizen Laboratory Services who determine the sand, silt and clay content. With that information, excavation experience, and the science based flow rate charts, the designer will determine the linear loading rate. Basically this tells us how much wastewater we can safely load onto each square foot of the septic field so it can work efficiently.

Today's more stringent design guidelines ensure less environmental impact and a system expertly tailored to the needs of your home and family.
